Xu Kunlin, governor of east China's Jiangsu province, met Wednesday afternoon in Nanjing with Joerg Wuttke, chairman of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China.
After extending his warm welcome to Wuttke's visit to Jiangsu, Xu Kunlin said that the EU is an important economic and trade partner of Jiangsu, and the two sides have broad cooperation space and unlimited potential.
Since the beginning of this year, Jiangsu has recorded an accelerated industrial recovery, a strong recovery in consumption, stable and improved quality through foreign trade, and a stable and positive economic performance trend.
Jiangsu has recently started construction of a batch of new foreign funded projects and major projects. Several senior executives from multinational enterprises have come to Jiangsu to discuss cooperation, indicating the confidence of EU enterprises in investing in Jiangsu for development.
He hoped that EU enterprises would seize the new opportunities for high-quality development in Jiangsu and deploy more high-quality projects and high-end resources in Jiangsu. The Governor also hoped that the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China would play the role of being a bridge and link, continue to help promote Jiangsu, encourage more EU enterprises to visit Jiangsu for investment, innovation and entrepreneurship, and provide services and support for Jiangsu enterprises to expand overseas markets.
Xu Kunlin said Jiangsu will continue to create a market-oriented, legalized, and internationalized first-class business environment, further optimize services for foreign-funded enterprises, strengthen regular government enterprise communication, and respond to enterprise concerns.
Wuttke thanked Jiangsu for its long-term concern and support for the development of foreign-funded enterprises in Jiangsu. He said that the European Chamber of Commerce in China will actively promote closer economic and trade exchanges, deepen cooperation in green energy, technological innovation, and other aspects, so that EU enterprises can better participate in high-quality development in Jiangsu, and achieve a higher level of mutual benefit and win-win results.
