The city of Wuxi in Jiangsu province held a series of distinctive spring shopping activities over the weekend in a bid to give strong impetus to the consumer market by focusing on "food, housing, travel, shopping, and entertainment".
Last night, the Yingyue Lake in Wuxi was ablaze with lights and people. Featured consumer experience exhibitions such as the Digital RMB Experience Hall, the "Spring Moon · Wuxi Tour" market places and the New Energy Auto Show attracted many citizens to participate in interactive experiences.
From March to May, Jiangsu will carry out more than 1400 consumption promotion activities to distribute 120 million yuan of consumer vouchers and 35 million yuan of red envelopes in digital RMB, bringing tangible consumer benefits to the local residents.
"I was given a coupon of 50 yuan minus 20 yuan which I can use directly on the APP. This method is relatively easy," said a resident of Wuxi.
"The shopping festival activities in the past two years have already generated an IP effect and have had some influence which has played a significant role in guiding our customers," said a restaurant owner in Wuxi.
The new round of consumption vouchers issued across the province can be used for one-time consumption such as purchasing cars, home appliances, catering, tourism, accommodation, etc.
The 13 prefecture-level cities in the province also launched themed consumption promotion activities simultaneously.
Nanjing has launched 400 featured activities around 12 sectors in 8 major fields, with 8000 enterprises participating in profit sharing sales. Suqian issued 10 million yuan of red envelopes in digital RMB, stimulating a consumption boom. Xuzhou launched 100 key profit-sharing promotional activities, focusing on business consumption, home appliance consumption, automobile consumption, catering consumption, and cultural and tourism consumption.
"We will give full play to the enthusiasm of various commercial and trade enterprises take greater preferential measures truly benefit the people and jointly create a highland for commerce and trade in the Huaihai Economic Zone," said Wang Yongzhi, Director of Market Operation and Consumption Promotion Division, Xuzhou Municipal Bureau of Commerce.
