When participating in the deliberation of the Jiangsu delegation at this year's two sessions, General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out that high-quality development is the primary task of comprehensively building a modern socialist country. In today’s program, we will show you how Jiangsu has promoted the development of its advanced manufacturing cluster to improve industrial chain competitiveness.

In Changzhou, a "storm" of technological innovation across the new energy industry chain is sweeping upstream and downstream enterprises. With the goal of building a new energy capital, a group of leading enterprises in Changzhou, such as BYD, Ideal, China Innovation Airlines, and Honeycomb Energy, have spearheaded the growth momentum to form a good industrial ecology.

Changzhou has recently issued a series of support policies to promote upstream and downstream enterprises in the industrial chain to jointly strengthen scientific research and improve collaborative development capabilities.

"We have formulated a development plan for new energy and intelligent truck products, forming a research and development team of over 400 people. We are accelerating the layout of new energy commercial truck products," said Gu Jingzhe, Deputy Director of Technical Center of BAIC Heavy Duty Truck Co., Ltd..

"'The Capital of New Energy'" is also a very good opportunity for supporting manufacturers. We have developed new lightweight materials to ensure the environmental protection and comfort of our products," said Ma Cuixiang, Director of Management Center of Jiangsu Keda Stern Automotive Technology Co., Ltd..

"We have formulated a special action plan for technological innovation to promote the 'New Energy City', guiding and supporting our leading and backbone enterprises to form innovation consortiums and actively build an 'five-in-one' innovation ecosystem ranging from basic research to technological breakthroughs, to achievements transformation, science and innovation funds, and talent gathering," said Li Lei, Director of Changzhou Municipal Bureau of Science and Technology.

Driven by innovation, Jiangsu has continued to improve the upstream and downstream of the industrial chain and boost the quality and efficiency of the development of advanced manufacturing clusters.

Jiangsu occupies 10 seats in the list of the first batch of 45 advanced manufacturing clusters announced by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, ranking first in both quantity and scale in the country. Advanced manufacturing clusters contribute 70% to the manufacturing industry in the province.

At the same time, the implementation of major projects has laid a solid foundation for advanced manufacturing clusters.

Shenghong Refining and Chemical Integration Project, the largest single process refining and chemical integration project in China, was recently put into operation in Xuwei New Area, Lianyungang. In January alone, it increased its output value by 4 billion yuan, promoting the city's industrial growth by 12 percentage points.

Lianyungang has seized the opportunity of coastal development, amplified the advantages of characteristic industries, promoted the development of Shenghong Petrochemical, Satellite Petrochemical, and Sinochem International, and boosted the orderly advancement of more than 10 newly attracted downstream industry chain projects, including SK New Materials of South Korea and Aoshengde of the United States.

This year, 487 of the 500 provincial level industrial projects in Jiangsu are advanced manufacturing cluster projects. 150 projects will be completed and put into production within the year, which will promote the advanced manufacturing industry in the province to a new level.
