East China’s Jiangsu province has stepped up the construction of major investment projects and ensured their smooth progress through every possible effort so as to fulfill goals for social and economic development.

Jiangsu completed the 2138 meter shield construction of the left line of the Yangtze River Tunnel on Jianning West Road in Nanjing, accounting for 90% of the total construction.

The "Innovation" shield machine is driving at full speed and sprinting towards the remaining 210 meters. In another 1 and a half months, the entire tunnel will be connected.

"Today, we witnessed the moment when the total driving mileage of large diameter shield tunnels above 10m level exceeded 100km. In Jiangsu, we have participated in the construction of 11 large diameter tunnels, providing convenient commute services for people."

The world's largest tower crane independently developed by China has recently been officially put into use at the No. 6 main tower on the south side of the Changzhou-Taixing Yangtze River Bridge.

In a recent test, this tower crane smoothly lifted objects weighing more than 660 tons, equivalent to lifting 400 cars at the same time, with a lifting height of up to 400 meters and a lifting range of 61 meters, making it the world's largest horizontal arm slewing self elevating tower crane.

At present, the tower crane has risen to 250 meters, and the tower will gradually grow as the main tower rises. When the main tower is capped, the tower crane will rise to 379 meters, which will break the highest tower crane record in bridge construction.

"The main tower of the bridge is designed to have a total height of 352 meters. The upper tower column adopts a steel tower block hoisting and on-site welding as a whole scheme. The maximum hoisting weight of the steel tower section is 320 tons. The use of a super large tonnage tower crane effectively solves the high altitude construction difficulties such as heavy lifting components, high height, and large span."

Progress has been made in the construction of the Zhangjiagang-Jingjiang-Rugao Yangtze River Bridge, the world's largest span suspension bridge.

The constructors have completed the construction of the underground continuous wall at the southern anchor of the North Channel Bridge and started the construction of deep foundation reinforcement.

As a "protective bucket" for foundation pit excavation, the anchor foundation adopts a circular ground wall structure with an outer diameter of 90 meters and a wall thickness of 1.5 meters. During construction, the vertical accuracy deviation of the milling groove must be less than or equal to 500, which is equivalent to controlling the error per meter within a range of 2 millimeters. Through careful control, the project team has ensured that the perpendicularity accuracy of the ground wall groove is less than 1/1000, far exceeding the design requirements.

"Since the commencement of construction, all the construction personnel have continuously constructed 24 hours without interruption and completed the construction target of the south anchor ground diaphragm wall of the North Channel Bridge with high quality and efficiency two months in advance. This will provide valuable time for the subsequent deep foundation reinforcement construction, and ensure that the bottom sealing of the anchor foundation pit is completed before the flood season next year."
