Suzhou held on Tuesday a promotion meeting for the construction of new energy automobile industry innovation cluster, striving to seize back the lost time and save stamina for future development.
Suzhou will invest 91.6 billion yuan in 142 industrial projects, covering such subdivided fields as new energy vehicles, automotive electronics and parts, and intelligent connected vehicles.
The new energy vehicle powertrain expansion project of United Electronics Taicang Factory, a 5-billion-yuan project, is expected to be put into operation in June 2023, with an annual output value of 10 billion yuan.
Xiong Weiming, General Manager of United Automotive Electronics Co., Ltd. said, "We believe that our Taicang base will provide important parts for Suzhou and the continuous development of new energy vehicles in China."
In 2023, Suzhou will take new energy vehicles as its first industrial innovation cluster to be deployed and promoted by proposing to "build a trillion yuan automobile industry" in about five years, so as to accelerate the construction of new energy vehicle industrial innovation cluster and lay a solid foundation.
Jiangning District in Nanjing started 41 major industrial projects with a total investment of about 28 billion yuan, involving smart grid, biomedicine and high-end intelligent manufacturing.
At the recently-held Taihu Bay Science and Technology Innovation Belt Riverside Innovation Conference, Wuxi unveiled the Intelligent Connected Vehicle (Wuxi) Innovation Center and the Space Industry Research Institute of Hong Kong University in a bid to optimize the future industrial layout and continuously improve Wuxi's technological innovation competitiveness.
