Comrade Xin Changxing has been appointed member, standing member and secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, Peng Jinhui, Deputy Minister of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee, announced the decision of the CPC Central Committee at a meeting held Tuesday in Nanjing. Xu Kunlin, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Governor of Jiangsu Province, presided over the meeting and made a speech.
[voice over] In his speech, Xin Changxing said that he fully supported and resolutely obeyed the decisions of the CPC Central Committee, sincerely thanked General Secretary Xi Jinping and the CPC Central Committee for their high trust, and would certainly devote himself to the work of Jiangsu with a loyal, fervent and struggling heart.
Xin Changxing said that since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, Jiangsu has thoroughly studied and understood the Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era, earnestly implemented the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's instructions on Jiangsu's work and the decisions and arrangements of the Party Central Committee, adding that Jiangsu has made outstanding achievements, which are derived from the strong leadership of the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core, the scientific guidance of the Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era, and the continuous efforts of successive provincial committees and governments, as well as the hard work of the party members, cadres and the masses of the province.
Xin Changxing said that Jiangsu has a long history, splendid culture, prosperous economy and a large number of talents. Many major revolutionary events and landmark events of reform and opening up in this hot land have made important contributions to the breeding and formation of the spiritual pedigree of the CPC.
He said that it is a great honor and mission to take over the heavy task of becoming the Secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee and a member of the Jiangsu family from today on.
He said that he would keep in mind the entrustment made by General Secretary Xi Jinping, make every effort to carry out the work on the good basis laid by previous provincial committees, unswervingly follow the direction guided by the General Secretary, and live up to the trust of the General Secretary and the Party Central Committee.
Xin Changxing said that the 20th CPC National Congress has drawn a grand blueprint for building a socialist modern country in an all-round way and promoting the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation in an all-round way.
Noting that Jiangsu is comprehensively promoting the new practice of Chinese path to modernization on a new journey, Xin Changxing said it is more necessary for us to always take a clear stand and emphasize politics, gain insight into the decisive significance that the Party has established Comrade Xi Jinping’s core position on the Party Central Committee and in the Party as a whole and defined the guiding role of the Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for the New Era from the political height of strengthening the four consciousnesses and the four self-confidences, safeguarding the authority of the CPC Central Committee and getting united around the centralized and unified leadership the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at the core.
The newly-appointed Provincial Party Secretary said we should always adhere to the guidance of the Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era, adhere to promoting high-quality development, fully and accurately implement the new development concept, better build a new development pattern, and always adhere to the people-centered development thought, so that all people can better enjoy high-quality life in the modernization drive.
He remarked that we firmly believe that as long as we unswervingly move forward in the direction guided by General Secretary Xi Jinping, meet challenges with the spirit of struggle, forge ahead and open up the future with the spirit of unity and hard work, we will be able to fully implement in Jiangsu the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, and make new and greater contributions to building a socialist modern country in an all-round way and promoting the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation in an all-round way.
Xu Kunlin said that the decision of the CPC Central Committee to appoint Comrade Xin Changxing as the Secretary of Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee fully reflects the care and love of General Secretary Xi Jinping and the CPC Central Committee for Jiangsu, and the great importance they attach to the construction of Jiangsu's leadership, which will become a powerful impetus for promoting Jiangsu's work.
