Jiangsu Green Development International Exchange Conference was held online on Thursday. Fang Wei, Vice Governor of Jiangsu Province, attended the conference and delivered a speech.
Analisa Low, ambassador of Trinidad and Tobago to China, Spanish ambassador to China Rafael Dezcallar de Mazarredo, delivered a speech respectively. Mileidy Aguirre Díaz, Consul General of Cuba in Shanghai and Consul General of Ecuador in Shanghai Ivan Maldonado attended the meeting.
Fang Wei pointed out that promoting green and low-carbon development is in line with the current trend. In recent years, under the guidance of the Xi Jinping Thought on Ecological Civilization, Jiangsu has put the requirements of green development into the overall process of development and has achieved fruitful results by accelerating the green and low-carbon transformation of the economy and society, and continuing to deepen international cooperation in the fields of ecological environment governance, biodiversity protection, and green and low-carbon development.
The Vice Governor remarked that Jiangsu will thoroughly study and implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and President Xi Jinping’s important speech, firmly establish and practice the concept of lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets, further strengthen international cooperation in green energy, green trade, green industry and other fields, promote the construction of ecological civilization to a new level, and make positive contributions to building a harmonious and livable human homeland and building a community of earth life.
Typical cases of international cooperation on green development in Jiangsu were publicized at the conference with 16 international exchanges on green development to be held in the province. Jiangsu Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment signed cooperation memorandums through video link with the Ministry of Environment, Climate and Energy of Bavaria, Germany, and the Beijing Office of the Energy Foundation of the United States.
