Jiangsu recently launched a three-year action plan to escort marriage and family happiness in a bid to further carry out family education and family style construction, pilot reform of marriage customs, marriage and family counseling, and family education support.
Through the establishment of a specially-invited certificate awarding system, this plan will extensively carry out group weddings, commemorative weddings and other wedding certificate awarding activities, and encourage new and simplified weddings.
"The reform of marriage customs must not only inherit the tradition but also keep up with the pace of the new era. Jiangsu has carried out a series of experimental areas for the reform of marriage customs by launching a three-year action plan for escorting happy families," said He Zhengbiao, Deputy Director of the Social Affairs Division of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Civil Affairs.
