Wu Zhenglong pointed out that in the past 10 years in the new era, the cause of the party and the country, including the cause of higher education, has achieved historic achievements and undergone historic changes,which is attributed to General Secretary Xi Jinping's leadership as the core of the Party Central Committee and the core of the whole Party and the scientific guidance of the Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.
He said General Secretary Xi Jinping's important expositions on higher education, important instructions on Jiangsu's work, and important replies to young scholars of Nanjing University who have returned from studying abroad have pointed out the way forward and provided the foundation for us to promote the high-quality development of higher education in the new era.
Wu Zhenglong emphasized that members of the leading groups of universities and research institutes in the province must firm up their political loyalty, become conscious socialist politicians and educators, uphold their ideals and beliefs, and exercise absolute loyalty to the party from the political height of strengthening the four consciousnesses and the four self-confidences, safeguarding the authority of the CPC Central Committee and getting united around the centralized and unified leadership the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at the core.
The Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee emphasized that we must bear in mind the founding mission of building morality and cultivating people,the mission of educating people for the party and the country, the fundamental task of cultivating socialist builders and successors by arming teachers and students with the party's innovative theory so as to rely on the core socialist values to shape teachers and students, use the brilliant achievements of the party and the country to inspire teachers and students, educate and guide teachers and students to love the party and serve the country, consciously integrate their personal dreams into the journey of national rejuvenation, and cultivate newcomers of the era who are capable of shouldering the important task of national rejuvenation.
