East China’s Jiangsu province honored model cities for military-civilian mutual support at an award-giving ceremony held Monday in Nanjing. Wu Zhenglong, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Director of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress, attended and delivered a speech.
Wu Zhenglong pointed out that a series of important instructions made by General Secretary Xi Jinping on the military-civilian mutual support have pointed out the direction and injected a strong impetus for the development of the military-civilian mutual support in the new era.
Wu Zhenglong emphasized that this year will witness the convening of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, which is a very important representative meeting at an important moment when our party has entered a new journey to build a modern socialist country in an all-round way and march toward the second centenary goal, making the congress a major event in the political life of the party and the country.
The Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee requested that the whole province must adhere to the guidance of the Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, thoroughly study and implement the Xi Jinping Thought on Strengthening the Armed Forces and General Secretary Xi Jinping's important exposition on the military-civilian mutual support, and earnestly study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech delivered on July 27 at the opening ceremony of a study session of provincial and ministerial-level officials and the important speech delivered at the meeting of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee.
He called for efforts to enhance political stance, gain insight into the decisive significance that the Party has established Comrade Xi Jinping’s core position on the Party Central Committee and in the Party as a whole and defined the guiding role of the Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for the New Era from the political height of strengthening the four consciousnesses and the four self-confidences, safeguarding the authority of the CPC Central Committee and getting united around the centralized and unified leadership the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at the core.
Wu Zhenglong emphasized that the military-civilian mutual support is a matter of great concern for the military and localities, the economy and national defense, and the military and the people. To this end, the military and civilian levels in the province should strengthen organizational leadership, build a joint management pattern, strengthen institutional guarantees, deepen military-civilian mutual support, consolidate the strong synergy of the military-civilian mutual support and make unremitting efforts to realize the Chinese dream and the dream of a strong armed forces.
The collective honor of military-civilian mutual support went to the 13 prefecture level cities and 69 counties or county level cities and districts. 100 organizations and 100 individuals were honored for military-civilian mutual support.
