Since the beginning of this year, Jiangsu has taken all effective measures to speed up the construction of major transportation infrastructure, and continue to help stabilize investment and growth.
The main structure of Jiangyin Station of the South Yangtze River Intercity Railway was capped on Sunday. This is the largest new high-speed railway station building on the entire high-speed railway line that connects the cities along the southern bank of the Yangtze River.

In response to the difficulties in project approval and element guarantee in the progress of the work, Jiangsu has established a coordinated promotion system for major transportation projects in a bid to give full play to the role of key transportation projects in stabilizing investment and growth.
From January to May, 8 major transportation projects in Jiangsu reported progress beyond expectations. The construction of the Nanjing-Yancheng Expressway was approved for land use more than a month in advance, and construction will start at the end of June.
Construction of the Haimen-Taicang Yangtze River Tunnel will start by the end of October, half a year earlier than originally planned.
From January to May, Jiangsu recorded a year-on-year increase of about 15% in investment in railways, highways, water transportation, and air transportation, significantly higher than the growth rate of the province’s fixed asset investment and infrastructure investment during the same period.
Investments in railways, highways, and water transportation increased by 27.1%, 16.1%, and 50.1% year-on-year, reversing the negative growth trend of investment in transportation infrastructure construction from January to April, and playing an important role in maintaining steady growth in the province’s investment in fixed assets.
