A drama "Black Horse Village by the White Horse River" was staged in Nanjing on Monday, opening the curtain of a new era reality-themed stage art tour across the province. Zhang Aijun, member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Minister of the Publicity Department of the Provincial Party Committee, attended the premiere ceremony and watched the performance.
The drama "Black Horse Village by the White Horse River" was created by the Drama Theater of Jiangsu Performing Arts Group, and was selected as the key repertoire funded by the Jiangsu Province Stage Art Creation Support Project in 2021.
The play tells the touching story of two generations of village party secretaries in Black Horse Village who broke through many difficulties and continued to lead the villagers to get rid of poverty and build up fortune, reshape green waters and green mountains, and re-establish spiritual beliefs.
The Jiangsu Province New Era Reality-themed Stage Play Tour Show is co-sponsored by the Provincial Party Committee Publicity Department and the Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism. The event will last from June 20 to August 26.
The 20 plays cover various art forms including Peking Opera, local opera, drama, dance drama, musical, children's drama, and puppet drama. They are created in Jiangsu since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.
