East China’s Jiangsu province has stepped up the construction of major investment projects and ensured their smooth progress through every possible effort so as to fulfill goals for social and economic development set forth in this year’s government work report. JSBC has the story.

The construction party started pouring the first floor of the Zhushanhu Tunnel on Provincial Highway 341 on the west bank of Taihu Lake on Wednesday afternoon, marking the full start of the construction of the main structure of the lake-bottom tunnel on the longest trunk road in China.

The 7.81-kilometer-long Wuxi Mashan to Yixing Zhoutie section of the Zhushanhu Tunnel of the 341 Provincial Highway is scheduled for operation by the end of 2023.

Upon completion, the project will greatly shorten the distance between Yixing and Wuxi, and drive the economic development and in-depth development of tourism resources in the areas along the route.

The constructor of the Changzhou-Taizhou Yangtze River Bridge put into use the W12000-450 tower crane on Tuesday, making it the world's first super-large tower crane with a top-turn over 10,000-ton meters.

The tower crane has a maximum lifting capacity of 450 tons and a maximum lifting height of 400 meters, which is equivalent to lifting 300 cars to a height of 130 floors at a time.

With our tower crane, the whole section can be hoisted, so that we can minimize the work on the tower.

Changzhou-Taizhou Yangtze River Bridge is the first bridge for expressway, intercity railway and first-class highway in China and its main channel bridge is constructed with steel truss cable-stayed bridge with a main span of 1176 meters.
