East China’s Jiangsu province has stepped up its efforts to bail out the tourism and culture sector that has been bogged down under the impact of the covid-19 epidemic.
The 2022 "China Tourism Day" Jiangsu sub-event kicked off in Nanjing on Thursday morning. The "online + offline" event promoted tourism resources to audiences and netizens through the cloud platform.
Jiangsu launched on Thursday an upgraded selection of "Water Rhyme Jiangsu: Preferred Tourist Destinations" , which will select a number of beautiful villages, vacation spaces, intangible cultural heritage experiences, and cultural and creative products to showcase new achievements in the high-quality development of the province’s cultural tourism industry.
In the meantime, Jiangsu has released more than 300 preferential tourism policies and more than 180 themed tourism activities in various places in a bid to invite tourists from all over the country to visit Jiangsu and appreciate the beauty of water rhyme of Jiangsu.
"The preferential measures involve tourism assistance for the elderly and disabled, preferential measures for medical workers, and public welfare theatrical performances to benefit the people as well as the issuance of cultural tourism consumption coupons, aiming to accelerate the recovery of the cultural tourism market," said Wang Hongzhou, Second-level Inspector of Jiangsu Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism.
Since the beginning of this year, the Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism has allocated 89 million yuan of funds to support 559 projects in a bid to provide targeted support to the main players in the cultural and tourism market, including travel agencies, tourist attractions, performance brokerage agencies and characteristic tourist hotels.
