Jiangsu's marine gross product reached 924.83 billion yuan last year, an increase of 12.5% over the previous year, accounting for 7.9% of the regional gross domestic product, according to 2021 Jiangsu Province Marine Economy Statistical Bulletin issued recently.
The added value of the primary marine industry came at 53.67 billion yuan, the added value of the secondary industry came at 431.11 billion yuan, and the added value of the tertiary industry reached 440.05 billion yuan, further increasing the proportion of the marine tertiary industry.
The main marine industries in Jiangsu showed a strong recovery, with an added value of 363.55 billion yuan, an increase of 16.1% over the previous year.
Jiangsu continued to promote the transformation and upgrading of marine fisheries and further optimize the structure of fish farming.
