Authorities in the city of Nanjing have introduced proactive measures to ensure smooth logistics by speeding up the review and issuing on the internet a unified national pass for truck drivers.
Nanjing dispatched more than 80 law enforcement officers from traffic, traffic control and healthcare to be on duty 24 hours a day at the Yangshan Inspection Station of the Nanjing-Shanghai Expressway.
There are six lanes here, but only two lanes are currently open with one reserved for the passage of supply vehicles.
All trucks entering Nanjing are required to make an appointment through the "Nanjing Smooth Transport" mini app 24 hours before arriving in Nanjing. As of Thursday morning, nearly 180 thousand trucks had applied for appointments.
The "Nanjing Smooth Transport" mini app has sped up the review process. The platform will automatically generate a QR code within 1 hour of receiving the application submitted by truck drivers from low-risk areas.
"Trucks from medium and high-risk areas must be reviewed by the local government and partner companies where they are located after submitting the application to enter Nanjing. When they pass the review we will issue a QR code within 4 hours. We will transfer the truck drivers to the buffer zone for closed-loop management," said Ai Muyuan, Head of Yangshan Inspection Station of the Nanjing-Shanghai Expressway.
"A bit faster than the previous, the overall process now takes a few minutes up to ten minutes," said a truck driver.
77 highway inspection stations in Nanjing have adopted reliable and effective traffic diversion measures to ensure smooth road transportation.
Since April 19, Nanjing has dispatched 15 inspection teams to supervise the epidemic prevention and control and logistics smoothness of all highway inspection sites in Nanjing.
Starting from April 19, carriers of key material transport vehicles in Nanjing can apply for a national uniform-style pass on the official website of the Nanjing Municipal Transportation Bureau.
