East China’s Jiangsu province issued 92.888 billion yuan of government bonds in the first quarter of this year, providing strong support for expanding investment and stabilizing growth, the provincial department of finance said on Tuesday.
Jiangsu has issued 92.888 billion yuan of government bonds this year, including 49.422 billion yuan of special bonds, which has played an important role in expanding effective investment, boosting weak links and increasing economic stability.
By establishing and improving the whole-process management and control mechanism for special bonds, Jiangsu reported a substantial increase in the use and investment scale of special bonds by adding 1,458 special bond projects since the beginning of this year.
At the same time, Jiangsu has reserved 752 bond projects in nearly 600 billion yuan, targeting major projects in key areas such as transportation infrastructure, municipal and industrial park development, and rural revitalization.
Jiangsu has also continued to improve the inter-departmental collaboration mechanism, accelerated the progress of project approval, and filing, and promoted the early transformation of projects and early start of construction.
Since 2021, 1,246 projects in Jiangsu have raised nearly 200 billion yuan through the issuance of special bonds, accounting for 92.14% of the total projects.
