The first green high-end dual-fuel ro-ro passenger ship built by China Merchants Industry Nanjing Jinling Shipyard for a German shipowner was delivered in Nanjing on Monday, filling Jiangsu’s gap in the construction of high-end ro-ro passenger ships and marking a landmark breakthrough in the product upgrade of Jiangsu’s shipbuilding enterprises.
The ship is a new generation of green and environmentally friendly ships with a high degree of automation. The main and auxiliary engines and boilers are driven by electricity and fuel.
When powered by LNG fuel, compared with ships powered by conventional fuel oil, the exhaust emission can be reduced by more than 50%, while the vibration and noise control have reached the international leading level.
Measuring 229.4 meters long, 31 meters wide and 15.35 meters wide, the ship is designed with 12 decks with 245 guest rooms that can accommodate 800 passengers and 66 crew.
The 4-layer continuous vehicle deck with 4,850-meter driveway can load more than 200 trucks and trailers when it sails in the Baltic Sea after delivery.
At present, Nanjing Jinling Shipyard has orders for 20 ro-ro ships with the total tonnage accounting for 35.1% of the global market share, ranking first in the world.
