Fei Gaoyun, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Executive Vice Governor, called for further efforts to strengthen work safety supervision so as to better coordinate the overall planning of development and security in the next three years through the launch of a special program.
Regional governments and departments at all levels in the province must study and implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions on work safety and adhere to goal-oriented approaches in the promotion of work safety, according to a statement released after the meeting.
Targeted measures should be taken to address latent hazards in key sectors involved in the production of chemical and hazardous chemicals, transportation, construction and engineering, gas and fire supply, energy storage power station, offshore wind farm, schools and railway and coach station so as to resolutely curb all kinds of serious accidents, said the statement.
Jiangsu will promote and strengthen safety management to improve the level of intrinsic safety through intelligent transformation and digital transformation. Authorities at the provincial, municipal and county levels must continue to carry out safety production supervision and urge the rectification of hidden dangers, the statement said.
All regional governments and government departments must enhance their sense of responsibility and urgency, and strengthen the responsibility of party and government leadership, departmental supervision, and corporate responsibility, strengthen the monitoring and early warning of extreme weather conditions such as rain, snow and freezing, improve response plans, and prepare emergency forces in key places such as highways and large commercial complexes and places with dense populations to ensure timely and rapid response, according to the statement.
All measures must be taken to strengthen traffic safety during the Spring Festival and government departments must enhance their political awareness, ensure that leading officials will stand on duty so as to strengthen emergency response capabilities, and promote social harmony, safety and stability, the statement said.
