East China’s Jiangsu province will give a stronger impetus to the agricultural and rural work in the year 2022, according a provincial conference on rural work held Thursday in Nanjing.
In his written instruction, Wu Zhenglong, the CPC Provincial secretary, pointed out that the work of agriculture, rural affairs and farmers is the top priority of the province's work, and also a weak link for building a comprehensively well-off society.
Wu Zhenglong asked the agricultural and rural affairs departments at all levels in the province to thoroughly study and understand General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speeches and important instructions, implement the decisions and requirements of the Central Rural Work Conference and the 14th Provincial Party Congress, strengthen the stable supply of grain and important agricultural products, consolidate and expand the achievements of poverty alleviation, adhere to the red line of arable land protection, comprehensively promote rural vitalization, and promote the modernization of agriculture and rural areas.
In his written instruction, Xu Kunlin, governor of Jiangsu, pointed out that the issue of agriculture, rural affairs and farmers is a fundamental issue concerning the national economy and the people's livelihood.
He demanded that the province should implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important expositions on the work of "agriculture, rural areas and farmers" and important instructions for the work of Jiangsu, implement the decisions and requirements of the 14th Provincial Party Congress, make the rural vitalization strategy as the overall starting point for the work of agriculture, rural areas and farmers in the new era for the continuous promotion of the comprehensive upgrading of agriculture, rural progress, and all-round development of the farmers to ensure stable agricultural production and supply, steady increase in farmers' income, and stability and harmony in rural areas.
Since last year, in the face of the severe and complex development situation, the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government have coordinated the epidemic prevention and control and the development of "agriculture, rural areas and farmers", and solidly promoted rural vitalization so that the development of agricultural and rural undertakings in the "14th Five-Year Plan" got off to a good start, according to a statement released after the meeting.
All regional governments and government departments must follow the decisions and arrangements of the Party Central Committee and the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government, strengthen the Party's overall leadership over the work of "agriculture, rural areas and farmers", and complete various goals and tasks with high quality to welcome the convening of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.
