ROK, Finland and Sweden to send Winter Olympic players to Beijing

The Republic of Korea, Finland and Sweden will send their Winter Olympics players to Beijing as they announced the establishment of their Olympic teams over the past two days. 

The South Korean government announced on Tuesday that its Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism will lead a delegation to attend the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.

South Korean National Assembly Speaker Park Byung-suk will also be invited to attend the opening ceremony of the Beijing Winter Olympics.

The South Korean delegation held a team formation ceremony. South Korean Prime Minister Kim Fu-gyeom delivered a speech, encouraging the Olympic athletes to strive for good performance. South Korea will send a delegation of 124 people to Beijing, including 63 athletes and management and medical staff.

The Finnish Olympic Committee announced on Monday that 95 athletes, including 51 male athletes and 44 female athletes, have been selected for the Finnish Winter Olympics delegation to the Beijing Winter Olympics.

They will compete in nine events including biathlon, ice hockey, cross-country skiing and figure skating.

The Swedish Olympic Committee on Monday announced that a delegation of 116 athletes will be sent to the Beijing Winter Olympics, the country's largest-ever delegation to the Winter Olympics.
