Targeted measures will be taken by eight provincial departments to ensure safety during the spring festival holiday, the provincial government said at a press conference Tuesday afternoon.
The Provincial Department of Civil Affairs and the Provincial Department of Finance will allocate 97.63 million yuan to provide holiday subsidies to more than 900 thousand people of disadvantaged groups across the province.
Jiangsu is expecting 61.2 million trips during the Spring Festival against possible extreme weather. The transportation department has launched a contingency plan to ensure sufficient transport capacity.
The province's public security will strengthen safety control on Spring Festival travel, public security prevention and control, respond to cases of migrant workers complaint of wage in arrears and ensure stability and order during the festival.
The Provincial Department of Commerce has made arrangements in advance to ensure sufficient supply of pork, vegetables and daily necessities. The market supervision department will strengthen the supervision on safety of imported cold chain food.
During the spring festival, Jiangsu will launch more than 5,100 online and offline cultural activities to entertain the local people.
In the meantime, the provincial health commission has installed 144 nucleic acid testing sites across the province to provide round-the-clock service in case of emergencies during the holiday.
People are also advised not to travel to regions of medium and high risks where confirmed Covid-19 cases have been reported recently.
