East China’s Jiangsu province reported smooth railway and highway traffic flow on Monday as the country’s annual spring festival travel rush or chunyun started.
During the Spring Festival travel rush, Nanjing Railway Station is expected to send 5.12 million passengers, an average of 128 thousnd passengers per day.
Suzhou Railway Station is expected to send 3.96 million passengers, and 300 thousand tickets have been sold out.
On the first day of the Spring Festival travel rush, major railway stations saw generally stable passenger flow.
"On the first day of the Spring Festival travel rush,Nanjing South Railway Station is expected to transport about 80 thousand passengers by sending 277.5 sets of passenger trains on a daily basis.In order to meet the needs of passengers,we plan to add 99.5 sets of temporary passenger trains."said Zu Tao, Secretary of the Party Branch of Nanjing South Railway Station
"Passengers traveling to Beijing, Zhangjiakou and Tianjin must present a 48-hour negative nucleic acid test certificate."said Xu Chenxiao, Chief of Marketing Section of Suzhou Railway Station
Starting on January 15th, passengers can use the 12306 mobile APP to apply for an electronic temporary travel ID.
The electronic temporary passenger ID can be used for ticket purchase, refund and change, and exit but each person can only apply for 3 times a month, and each time is valid for 24 hours.
On Monday morning, calligraphers presented Spring Festival couplets to passengers, creating a festive atmosphere, and adding warmth to their way home.
