East China’s Jiangsu province reported a continuous improvement of air quality last year, the Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment said on Monday.
iangsu made significant improvement in air quality in 2021 with average annual concentration of PM2.5 coming at 33 micrograms per cubic meter, a year-on-year improvement of 13.2%, reaching the national secondary standard for the first time. 82.4% of the days in the year were of good air quality, the best level since monitoring records began. In the past year, Jiangsu adhered to source governance and coordinated co-governance, and continuously improved the refinement of environmental law enforcement for air pollution prevention and control. In addition, the 13 prefecture-level cities in Jiangsu strengthened the transformation of ultra-low emissions in thermal power and other industries, clean energy replacement.
