In 2021, Jiangsu reported 710.12 billion kWh, an increase of 11.4% over the previous year.
Industrial use of electricity reached 498.00 billion kWh, an increase of 10.1%, both hitting a record high. Transportation, information transmission, wholesale and retail, and leasing business services reported a year-on-year increase of over 20% in electricity use. The proportion of electricity use in high-energy-consuming industries dropped from 40.6% to 38.5%, and the proportion of electricity use in service industries increased from 14.9% to 15.7%, showing a development trend of continuous optimization and upgrading of the industrial structure.
