No. 1 [2022] Notice on Epidemic Prevention and Control of Suzhou
The COVID-19 pandemic is still raging across the world at the moment. The northern coastal city of Tianjin has reported multiple cases infected with the Omicron variant of the coronavirus and the virus has spread to three generations or more in local resurgence. Under the circumstances, Suzhou faces a challenge of guarding against both imported and locally-transmitted cases. Moreover, the Spring Festival travel rush will start soon. To effectively contain the transmission of the coronavirus, this notice hereby specifies the following rules:
1. Travelers coming to Suzhou with a travel history to Tianjin since December 25, 2021 should immediately report to local residing communities, their employers, or accommodating hotels, and cooperate in health monitoring and nucleic acid testing. Those with a travel history to Tianjin’s Jinnan District or Nankai District within the period from December 25, 2021 to January 7, 2022 should undergo a 14-day home-based health monitoring. Travelers coming to Suzhou with a travel history to Tianjin since January 8 should be subject to a 14-day medical observation at designated places (starting from the day they left Tianjin).
2. Travelers coming to Suzhou with a travel history to the following areas should undergo a 14-day medical observation at designated places (starting from the day they left the following areas):
Xi’an City; Beilun District (Ningbo City); Zhongyuan District and Erqi District (Zhengzhou City); Luohu District and Longgang District (Shenzhen City); Wenfeng District, Long’an District, Huaxian County, Tangyin County and Neihuang County (Anyang City); Junxian County (Hebi City).
3. For those who are coming or returning to Suzhou with a travel history to domestic medium-risk and high-risk areas, whose travel records overlap with the ones of confirmed cases, and whose health codes are abnormal (shown in yellow or red), they should report to local residing communities and their employers (or accommodating hotels) and actively cooperate with local epidemic prevention and control authorities in such management measures as health monitoring and nucleic acid testing.
4. For those who are coming to Suzhou with a travel history to domestic cities (or districts of municipalities directly under the central government) with medium-risk or high-risk areas should have negative nucleic acid test results issued within the past 48 hours (or health code that includes negative nucleic acid test results issued within the same period of time), and cooperate in local management measures as required after their arrival in Suzhou.
For travelers who are coming or returning to Suzhou from other provinces/municipalities, they are advised to have negative nucleic acid test results issued within the past 48 hours, cooperate in checks, take nucleic acid tests at the nearest sampling sites and monitor their health conditions.
5. During the health monitoring, those with such symptoms as fever, dry cough, fatigue and sore throat should immediately report to local residing communities, keep face masks on, seek medical treatment at the nearest fever clinics and inform the medical staff of their recent whereabouts and contact history. Do not use public transport while seeking medical treatment.
6. We call on all residents to avoid unnecessary trips to areas with locally transmitted COVID-19 cases. Those who are obliged to travel to such areas should report to local residing communities (villages) and their employers before leaving, take proper self-protection measures, and cooperate in local management measures as required after returning to Suzhou.
7. All residents should continue their self-protection efforts and keep up the “three precautions against the epidemic”, namely wearing face masks, practicing social distancing and maintaining good hygiene. Let’s bear in mind the “six to-dos still needed ” -- we still need to put on face masks, keep social distancing, cover mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing, wash hands often, open windows for ventilation, and get vaccinated on time.
