The Purple Mountain Laboratory recently released its 6G core technology innovation results. Spearheading the international level, the wireless transmission communication experimental system built on this technology has a communication rate that is 10-20 times higher than that of 5G.

Purple Mountain Laboratory released a 360-430GHz terahertz 100/200Gbps real-time wireless transmission communication experimental system.

Terahertz wireless communication is generally considered to be the core component of the future 6G mobile communication system. The Purple Mountain Laboratory chose photonic terahertz wireless communication as the direction of 6G breakthrough, and built a leading domestic and world-class photonic terahertz experimental environment.

After more than three years of hard work, the laboratory pioneered a real-time transmission architecture integrating photonic terahertz fiber, and completed the development of a photonic terahertz real-time wireless communication experimental system, which broke the world record that the real-time transmission rate of the terahertz communication system exceeded 100Gbps.

"Our results can be seamlessly integrated with existing fiber optic networks, significantly reducing fiber deployment costs and power consumption. In the future this technology can also be equipped with platforms such as satellites, unmanned aerial vehicles, airships and be applied to high-speed wireless transmission between satellites at the thousand kilometers level to realize integrated air-space-ground-sea communications," said Zhu Min, Head of the Photonic Terahertz Research Group, Purple Mountain Laboratory.

Relying on this innovative achievement, the Purple Mountain Laboratory will build a world-class 6G comprehensive test platform, and strive to be the first to complete the test and verification of the key technical capabilities of the 6G system so as to make greater contributions to China's 6G research and development at the forefront of the world.
