The Nanjing City Wall Museum, the largest city wall museum in China, was put into trial operation on Tuesday. 

Located on the east side of defense enclosure of Zhonghuamen, the 13,000-square-meter museum displays more than 2,000 fine cultural relics including more than 700 selected city wall bricks classified according to the source, brick printing method and other characteristics and a Ming Dynasty brick kiln that was transported back from Lichuan County of Jiangxi Province. The brick kiln resembles a steamed bun with a diameter of more than 3 meters and a height of more than 2 meters. The museum set up a large-scale Ming Dynasty Nanjing city full-view sand table, and collected memories of the city wall from more than a hundred experts, citizens and other groups of people to showcase the historical and cultural value of Nanjing City Wall from the aspects of fortification technology, imperial dignity, military defense.
