The opening ceremony of the Jiangsu-ASEAN Exchange Week was held on Thursday in Nanjing, Beijing, Shanghai and relevant ASEAN countries.
Fei Gaoyun, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Executive Vice Governor, attended the event and delivered speeches at the main venue in Nanjing. ASEAN Deputy Secretary-General Igpa, Chen Dehai, Secretary-General of China-ASEAN Center, and Vietnamese Consul General in Shanghai delivered speeches respectively.
Fei Gaoyun said that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of dialogue relations between China and ASEAN. Looking back on the past 30 years, Jiangsu, as a major economic province and a major open province in China, has carried out fruitful cooperation with ASEAN in various fields and achieved remarkable achievements.
Fei Gaoyun pointed out that on November 22, President Xi Jinping announced the establishment of a China-ASEAN comprehensive strategic partnership at the 30th anniversary of the establishment of China-ASEAN dialogue relations, emphasizing the establishment of a closer China-ASEAN community with a shared future, marking a new milestone in the history of China-ASEAN relations.
He noted that standing on a new starting point, Jiangsu will thoroughly implement the spirit of President Xi Jinping’s important speech, deepen pragmatic cooperation with ASEAN countries in areas such as regional exchanges, economic and trade investment, and strive to inject new vitality and make new contributions to the development of China-ASEAN relations.
Also present at the opening ceremony were the consul-generals of Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia in Shanghai, the diplomatic envoys of the embassies of Vietnam and Thailand in China, and representatives of related sister cities, enterprises, universities and business associations of ASEAN countries.
