The ninth meeting of the Jiangsu-Hong Kong Cooperation Joint Conference was held in Nanjing and Hong Kong simultaneously via video link on Thursday. Fei Gaoyun, Member of the Standing Committee of the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee and Executive Vice Governor, presided over the meeting and delivered a speech. Fong Shun-man, Executive Director of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, delivered a speech.
Fei Gaoyun pointed out that Jiangsu and Hong Kong have strengthened cooperation in various fields and achieved a series of practical results. Hong Kong maintains an important position as Jiangsu's largest source of overseas investment, largest destination of overseas investment, and seventh largest trading partner.
He hoped that the two sides will give an active play to the role of the Jiangsu-Hong Kong Joint Conference on Cooperation and deepen the exchanges and cooperation between the two regions in the joint construction of the "Belt and Road", economy and trade, modern service industry, finance, humanities, and youth exchange.
He also expressed the hope that both sides will expand the cooperation in green and low-carbon, digital economy, offshore trade and other emerging areas, and make greater contributions to the further construction of a new pattern of mutual benefit, win-win and integrated development between Jiangsu and Hong Kong.
Fong Shun-man said that the epidemic has not hindered the close cooperation and deep friendship between Jiangsu and Hong Kong. In the future, Jiangsu and Hong Kong can focus on strengthening cooperation in green finance and other fields, better grasp the opportunities of the regional comprehensive economic partnership agreement, and push the mutually beneficial cooperation between the two places to a new height.
