The Macao-Jiangsu Week will be held in Macau from December 8th to 12th. In recent years, Jiangsu has developed more frequent cultural exchanges with Macao while expanding economic and trade cooperation with Macao.
The Jiangsu operas are being staged at the Cinema Alegria of Macao recently. The performers of many theater troupes from Jiangsu Province and Huai'an City brought classic verses of Peking Opera, Huai Opera, and Huangmei Opera.
In recent years, Jiangsu has continuously expanded the field of exchanges with Macau, while constantly improving the cooperation mechanism. The Jiangsu-Macao·Portuguese-speaking Countries Business Summit held in Macau for ten consecutive years has become an important window and "golden bridge" for exchanges and cooperation between Jiangsu, Macau and Portuguese-speaking countries in multiple fields.
The latest statistics from the Provincial Department of Commerce and Nanjing Customs show that from January to October, the total import and export trade between Jiangsu and Macao reached US$135 million, a year-on-year increase of 149.4%, and the total import and export trade with Portuguese-speaking countries hit US$18.33 billion, a year-on-year increase of 35.1 %.
As of October, Macao and Portuguese-speaking countries have invested in 623 projects in Jiangsu, with direct foreign investment of US$1.65 billion.
Jiangsu has set up 110 overseas investment enterprises and institutions in Macao and Portuguese-speaking countries, totaling US$760 million in agreed investment.
Jiangsu has concluded 13 pairs of international friendship cities and 13 pairs of international friendship exchange cities with counterpart cities in Portuguese-speaking countries.
