2021 Zijinshan Summit for Entrepreneurs across the Taiwan Strait was held Tuesday in Nanjing and Taipei via video link.
Wang Yang, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, sent a congratulatory letter to the Council of the Cross-Strait Entrepreneur Summit, on behalf of the CPC Central Committee and General Secretary Xi Jinping, congratulating the convening of the annual meeting and extending greetings to all members and guests of the summit.
Wang Yang said that strengthening cross-strait economic cooperation conforms to the aspirations of the people on both sides of the strait and is conducive to enhancing the well-being of compatriots.
Under the impact of many unfavorable factors, the cross-strait trade volume has maintained rapid growth, and Taiwanese companies have continued to invest in the mainland with increasing enthusiasm and level.
The cross-strait economic cooperation is strong, resilient, and has huge potential, Wang Yang said, adding that the Chinese mainland has always been a hot destination for Taiwanese businessmen and enterprises to make investment and seek development.
Wang Yang emphasized that the Sixth Plenary Session of the 19th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China comprehensively summarized the major achievements and historical experience of the Communist Party of China in the past century, and solemnly declared its firm stand and determination to promote the complete reunification of the motherland in the process of national rejuvenation.
We will adhere to the one-China principle, adhere to the "1992 Consensus", oppose "Taiwan independence" and jointly promote the peaceful development of cross-strait relations, Wang Yang said.
Wang Yang pointed out that enterprises are the beneficiaries of the peaceful development of cross-strait relations and the builders of China's great cause of reunification.
He hoped that the cross-strait councils of the summit would stand firmly on the right side of history, resolutely draw a clear line with the "Taiwan independence" separatist forces, and contribute to the advancement of China's complete reunification and the realization of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
