East China’s Jiangsu province reported record high foreign trade volume in the first ten months of this year with imports and exports hitting 4.21 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 16.7%.
The province’s ten-month import and export volume accounted for 13.3% of the national total, with an average growth rate of 8.5% over the two years, and continued to rank among the top in the country.
General trade import and export reached 2.38 trillion yuan, an increase of 23.2%, accounting for 56.6% of the province’s total foreign trade value and up 3% over the same period last year.
In the first 10 months, Jiangsu maintained a steady growth in the imports and exports to the EU, ASEAN, the United States, South Korea, and Japan, accounting for 61.4% of the province's total foreign trade value.
The province’s imports and exports to countries along the “Belt and Road” reached 1.06 trillion yuan, an increase of 21.7% and 25.2% from the same period last year.
In the first 10 months, private enterprises in Jiangsu reported 1.6 trillion yuan of import and export, an increase of 28.8%, accounting for 38.1% of the total foreign trade value.
