East China’s Jiangsu province will enforce a slew of new laws and regulations in December. Let’s take a close look.
Jiangsu will implement the Groundwater Management Regulations on December 1st. In response to the serious local over-exploitation and outstanding pollution problems in the protection and utilization of groundwater, Jiangsu will make regulations on investigation and planning, conservation and protection, over-exploitation control, pollution prevention, and supervision and management.
The regulation clearly delineates groundwater over-exploitation areas, prohibited mining areas, restricted mining areas, and key areas for groundwater pollution prevention and control, and stipulate strict legal responsibilities for over-exploitation and groundwater pollution.
Jiangsu will implement the List of Prohibited Fishing Gear in Key Waters of the Yangtze River Basin since December 1st in order to strengthen the protection of the aquatic biological resources of the Yangtze River, promote the ecological restoration of the waters, and severely punish various illegal and criminal acts that endanger aquatic biological resources and the ecological environment, such as illegal fishing.
36 specific fishing gears in 10 categories, including single-boat purse seine nets, will be prohibited in the key waters of the Yangtze River Basin.
According to the Measures for the Comparison and Accreditation of Overseas Vocational Skills in Jiangsu Province to be implemented on December 1, workers who hold an overseas vocational skills certificate and study, start a business, or work in Jiangsu can obtain vocational skill level certification, in accordance with China’s corresponding vocational skill standards or Jiangsu’s industry and enterprise evaluation norms.
