East China’s Jiangsu province will strive to ensure the employment of 5 million people in cities and towns during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, according to the Jiangsu Province's 14th Five-Year High-Quality Employment Promotion Plan.
During the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" period, Jiangsu employed an average of 1.45 million people per year, ranking first in the country. The registered unemployment rate in urban areas and the surveyed unemployment rate remained within 4% and 4.5% respectively.
During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, Jiangsu will continue to optimize the employment structure so that the proportion of urban employment will reach more than 72%, and the growth of employee wage income will basically synchronize with GDP growth. At the same time, it will also support 750 thousand urban and rural workers to start their own businesses and create jobs for 3 million people.
