Wu Zhenglong, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, visited on Monday the Provincial People’s Congress and the Provincial Political Consultative Conference on an inspection tour.
Wu Zhenglong emphasized the need to uphold the Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in the New Era, study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions on and requirements for Jiangsu’s work, adhere to the Party’s leadership, give full play to the functions of the Provincial People’s Congress and the Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference so as to strive to be an example, a model, and a front-runner in the new journey of building socialist modernization in an all-round way.
Wu Zhenglong pointed out that the Provincial People’s Congress should uphold the Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in the New Era, implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech at the central work conference on People's Congress, adhere to the Party’s leadership, give full play to the functions of the Provincial People’s Congress so as to give full play to the fundamental political role of the people's congress system, and strive to better transform the advantages of the system into governance efficiency.
The secretary of the Provincial Party Committee requires that the legislatures at all levels must adhere to the highest political principles, improve mechanisms and methods, consciously highlight the party's leadership through all aspects of the work of the Provincial People's Congress, and give full play to the role of the Party Group of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress.
Wu Zhenglong required people’s congresses at all levels in Jiangsu to ensure modernization with high-quality legislation, to promote work implementation with high-performance supervision, to perform their duties with high standards and to give full play to their role of being deputies to the legislature so as to reach a consensus for the reform, development and stability of the province.
Wu asked the Provincial People's Congress to strengthen the leadership and guidance of the people's congress elections at the province, prefecture, county and township levels in accordance with the unified arrangements of the central and provincial party committees, strictly enforce various disciplinary regulations, and ensure the complete success of the elections.
During his inspection tour in the Provincial CPPCC, Wu Zhenglong demanded further efforts to enhance political stance, follow the Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in the New Era as the general plan for all work of the CPPCC, and thoroughly study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important thinking on strengthening and improving the work of the CPPCC.
Noting that adhering to the leadership of the Chinese Communist Party is the fundamental guarantee for the development and progress of the CPPCC, Wu Zhenglong demanded that the CPPCC at all levels in the province to give better play to the leadership role of the CPPCC party group, and continuously improve the quality and level of party building of the CPPCC from a new starting point.
