Zhou Ying, Director of Jiangsu Healthcare Security Bureau, said that Jiangsu has clarified 12 main development indicators for the development of healthcare security during the "14th Five-Year" plan period. By the end of the "14th Five-Year Plan" period the hospitalization reimbursement ratio of Jiangsu employee medical insurance and resident medical insurance should stabilize at around 85% and 70%. About 85% of inter-provincial hospitalization expenses will be directly settled and more than 90% of the people will be satisfied with healthcare security.

Jiangsu will also reduce the medical expenses of patients through centralized drug procurement, widen the gap in the reimbursement of medical expenses at medical institutions of various levels through medical insurance payment, and support the establishment of a hierarchical diagnosis and treatment model.
