East China’s Jiangsu province has made epidemic prevention and control a top priority for the time being by taking strong measures to prevent the imported cases and the virus spread so as to resolutely and effectively block the spread of the epidemic, and build a firewall for epidemic prevention and control.
The medical staff of Xigang Community Hospital in Qixia District set up a pre-diagnosis and triage desk where the doctors would inquire people with ten major symptoms such as colds and coughs, and arranged for them to receive treatment at fever clinic of the nearest hospital.
The hospital has also established a coordination mechanism with the community to implement closed management of targeted persons as soon as possible, follow up patients' visits and physical conditions, and strengthen the grassroots epidemic prevention and control network.
"The doctor asked carefully and explained clearly to us," said Fang Jiacui, residents of Xigang Community, Qixia District.
"We must not allow the onset of nosocomial infections in our hospital, and at the same time strengthen the pre-check and triage," said Gao Huihua, Dean of Xigang Community Hospital, Qixia District.
Nanjing Jingfeng Shopping Center, located in the Baijiahu business district in Jiangning District, suspended its business on Monday morning in order to cope with the epidemic prevention and control.
In order to strengthen the prevention and control of the epidemic situation in commercial establishments, starting from Tuesday, all kinds of shopping malls and wholesale markets in Jiangning District, Nanjing City have been temporarily suspended.
Supermarkets and farmer's markets are required to cap the flow of shoppers at 50% of the maximum.
The supermarkets have strictly implemented the prevention and control requirements for temperature measurement, health code inspection, and wearing masks.
"We conducted on-site inspections of all shopping malls and trading markets in the region this morning, and implemented the epidemic prevention work requirements of the headquarters," said Yi Juan, Chief of Market Development and Consumption Promotion Section, Bureau of Commerce, Jiangning District.
In the meantime,all parts of the province and various departments have also taken actions to weave a tight network for epidemic prevention and control. Yangzhou temporarily closed the entrances and exits of 20 highway toll stations in the surrounding areas, and at the same time carried out careful control and inspection of people and goods leaving Yangzhou.
Huai'an urgently transferred 30 urban management team members to guard the entrance and exit of Huai'an South Expressway 24 hours a day.
16 sampling points have been set up in Chongchuan District of Nantong City to provide free nucleic acid testing to all people who come to Nantong after July 20.
All regions across the province have applied technical means to improve the accuracy and scientific nature of prevention and control. Many communities in Nanjing have installed smart electronic door sensors for residents in isolation at home. On the premise of fully protecting personal privacy, the community can keep abreast of the situation of people in quarantine at home in a timely manner.
"This door sensor technology has greatly reduced the workload of front-line staff. We can free up more time to do all-scale nucleic acid, to carry out the daily management and control of the community, and to free up more time to serve people who are isolated at home," said Dou Jingchao, Secretary of the Party Committee of Chalu Community, Dongshan Street, Jiangning District.
