The Jiangsu provincial government appointed new legal advisors at a recent plenary meeting of the Legal Advisory Committee in a bid to accelerate the construction of a legal government and the construction of the rule of law in Jiangsu in the new era and new journey, and provide a strong legal guarantee for the construction of the new Jiangsu. Governor Wu Zhenglong attended the meeting and delivered a speech.
Wu Zhenglong said that in recent years, under the strong leadership of the central and provincial party committees, the provincial government has followed the Xi Jinping thought on rule of law as its guidance, adhered to constitutional administration and administration according to law, promoted the standardized operation of administrative power, and put government work on the track of the rule of law in a bid to build a government under the rule of law with scientific functions, statutory powers and responsibilities, strict law enforcement, fairness and justice, clean and efficient, and law-abiding integrity.
Efforts are needed to gain a deeper understanding of the Xi Jinping thought on rule of law so as to accurately understand the new development stage, act on the new development philosophy and accelerate the establishment of the new development paradigm from the political height of strengthening the four consciousnesses and the four self-confidences, safeguarding the authority of the CPC Central Committee and getting united around the centralized and unified leadership the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at the core, the governor said.
The governor hoped that the legal advisors will continue to improve their political judgment, political understanding, and political execution, so as to have a deep understanding that perfecting and implementing the legal adviser system is an important support for promoting the government's scientific and democratic decision-making in accordance with the law, an important way to coordinate development and security, and an important way to safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of the people and market entities, making it all the more important to better play the role of legal advisors, promote the construction of a government under the rule of law, and strive to create a new situation in the construction of Jiangsu under the rule of law.
Wu Zhenglong hoped that the legal advisors will perform their work duties, implement the requirements of the rule of law, safeguard social fairness and justice, promote social security and stability, and continuously enhance the public's sense of happiness and security under the rule of law.
He expressed his hope that the legal advisors will strengthen their political capabilities, deepen the study of the rule of law, strictly observe work discipline, and comprehensively improve their professionalism and ability to perform their duties.
He asked the government system at all levels in the province to strengthen organization and leadership, improve management systems, take the initiative to solve problems, fully perform their duties, set up a platform for legal counsel to play their roles, make joint efforts for the construction of a legal government, and continuously improve the level of modernization of the government's governance system and governance capabilities.
