A party and government delegation from Wanzhou district of Chongqing Municipality was in Jiangsu for an inspection tour. Wu Zhenglong, governor of Jiangsu, met with Mo Gongming, standing member of the CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee and head of the CPC Wanzhou District Committee.
On behalf of the provincial party committee and government, Wu Zhenglong extended his warm welcome to the party and government delegation from Wanzhou district.
He said that the pairing-up support to the Three Gorges Reservoir area is a major decision made by the Party Central Committee and the State Council, which is a showcase of the superiority of the socialist system with Chinese characteristics and political responsibility of Jiangsu.
Noting that the Yangtze River draws Jiangsu and Chongqing closer and the Yangtze River Economic Belt binds the two regions, Wu Zhenglong said Jiangsu will thoroughly study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions on strengthening cooperation between the east and the west and important expositions on the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt so as to make further progress in the pairing-up support.
Wu Zhenglong hoped that both parties will focus on the protection of the Yangtze River, guaranteeing people's livelihood, industrial cooperation and rural revitalization, strengthen cooperation and exchanges, promote common prosperity, and work together to promote the Yangtze River Economic Belt to carve out a path of ecological priority, green and low-carbon high-quality development by accurately understanding the new development stage, acting on the new development philosophy and accelerating the establishment of the new development paradigm.
Mo Gongming said that Wanzhou District will thoroughly study and implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions, learn from Jiangsu’s good experience and practices, and strive to promote high-quality development, and live up to the ardent expectations of the Party Central Committee and the deep friendship of the Jiangsu people.
