East China’s Jiangsu province will make unremitting efforts to ensure the smooth progress of the annual national college entrance exam and the senior high school entrance exam, according to a provincial leadership meeting held Thursday in Nanjing.
Great efforts should be made to take care of the particularities of this year’s college entrance exam and the senior high school entrance exam as they take place right before the centenary of the Communist Party of China, according to a statement released after the meeting.
The prevention and control of COVID-19 epidemic should be strengthened during the exams due to the recent resurgence of the confirmed cases in Guangzhou, capital city of south China’s Guangdong province, the statement said.
Precautions should be taken in epidemic prevention and control, transportation, food safety, environmental protection and readiness to cope with extreme weather conditions during the exam periods, said the statement.
The epidemic prevention and control work during the examination period must be done with the highest standards and strictest requirements, so as not to affect the examination due to the risk of the epidemic and not to cause the spread of the epidemic due to the examination, according to the statement.
Targeted measures must be taken to promote the high-quality development of education, practice the people-centered development concept, vigorously promote education reform, continuously promote education reform to make new progress, and insist on systematically advancing reforms, preschool education, basic education, vocational education, higher education, teaching staff, teachers cultivation, school building construction, reduction of schoolwork burden, school evaluation, teacher evaluation, student evaluation, examination evaluation so as to enhance education development in all aspects, the statement said.
