East China’s Jiangsu province has released the country's first provincial regulation on the standard for water source management and protection.
The Provincial Market Supervision Bureau issued the "Management and Protection Regulations for Centralized Drinking Water Sources".
This document puts forward clear requirements for the planning and site selection of centralized drinking water sources, directory management, water quantity and quality, environmental requirements and water quality monitoring.
The new regulations provide technical guidance for the promotion of the management and protection of centralized drinking water sources and the standardization of management and protection of centralized drinking water sources.
In recent years, Jiangsu has continuously strengthened the construction, management and protection of water sources. At present, all Jiangsu cities above the county level have measured up to the standards for centralized drinking water sources.
The regulation will be come into force on June 14.
