On the afternoon of May 20, the first meeting of the Meteorological Disaster Prevention Alliance Along the Huai River Eco-economic Belt was held, with meteorological departments from 11 cities in Jiangsu, Anhui and Henan provinces gathering in Huai'an and discussing cooperation mechanisms and development plans.
The Alliance was founded to facilitate sister cities along the Huai River to share resources, complement each other's strengths and achieve win-win cooperation in major meteorological disasters, major catastrophic weather research and collaboration, and joint air quality forecasting and warning. Huai'an, as the first city along the Belt that launched this initiative, will give full play to its functional role and provide enhanced protection and services for the future development of the meteorological cause as well as the Alliance.
