East China’s Jiangsu province has called for greater efforts to strengthen production safety by following General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speeches and instructions on work and production safety and the policies and decisions of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council so as to ensure a smooth progress during the upcoming Labor Day holiday.
Wu Zhenglong, governor of Jiangsu, pointed out that this year marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, the beginning of the "14th Five-Year Plan" and the beginning of the new journey of building a modern socialist country in an all-round way, making it all the more important to strengthen production safety.
He hoped that governments at all levels in the province will follow General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important expositions and important instructions to strengthen production safety and promote safety-oriented development from the political height of strengthening the four consciousnesses and the four self-confidences, safeguarding the authority of the CPC Central Committee and getting united around the centralized and unified leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at the core.
The Governor urged more efforts to strengthen work and production safety by accurately understanding the new development stage, acting on the new development philosophy and accelerating the establishment of the new development paradigm to drive high-quality development during the 14th Five-Year Plan period.
He reiterated that production safety is of utmost importance and greater efforts should be made to strengthen production safety by increasing the sense of urgency and ensure that the transportation, chemical industry, hazardous chemicals, transportation, marine fishery, construction and urban gas, coal, marine fishery, urban safety, tourism, fire protection and agricultural machinery industries are cleared of major risks and hidden dangers during the upcoming Labor Day holiday so as to create a safe and stable environment for celebrating the centenary of the Communist Party of China.
