Wu Zhenglong, governor of east China’s Jiangsu province, met Wednesday in Nanjing with Lei Mingshan, chairman of China Three Gorges Corporation.
Wu Zhenglong extended his warm welcome to Lei Mingshan, thanked the Three Gorges Group for its long-term care and support for the development of Jiangsu.
Wu Zhenglong said that General Secretary Xi Jinping presided over a symposium on comprehensively promoting the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt in Nanjing during his inspection of Jiangsu, which pointed out the way forward for Jiangsu and Three Gorges Group to further deepen cooperation, jointly promote the protection of the Yangtze River, and the high-quality development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt.
The governor noted that since 2019, the strategic cooperation framework agreement signed between Jiangsu and Three Gorges Group has been effectively implemented.
He hoped that both parties will deepen all-round cooperation in achieving the goals in carbon peak emissions and carbon neutrality, ecological protection and restoration of the Yangtze River, environmental pollution control, clean energy utilization, and energy conservation and intensive management, so as to complement each other's advantages and achieve win-win development in order to make greater contributions to promoting green, low-carbon, and high-quality development.
Lei Mingshan said that the Three Gorges Group has adhered to green development and implemented clean energy and ecological protection of the Yangtze River, adding that the Three Gorges Group will seize the opportunity to focus on Jiangsu's development needs, deepen multi-field in-depth cooperation, and contribute more to Jiangsu's high-quality development.
