China's first large-scale realistic acrobatics series "Bridge and Home" premiered in Nanjing Tuesday evening to showcase the construction of the Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge as a gift to centenary of the Communist Party of China. The Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge, opened to traffic in 1968, is the first double-deck railway and highway bridge on the Yangtze River designed and built by China on its own.
The acrobatic drama tells the story of a family’s parents who met and fell in love in the process of the bridge construction by reproducing the touching scenes during the construction of the Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge.
In the 90-minute performance, more than 60 acrobats restored the important scenes from the bridge's initial construction in 1959 to the opening to traffic in 1968.
In addition to the unique advantages of acrobatics and thrills, the whole drama also integrates dance, drama, film and other artistic methods, perfectly reproducing the glorious years of the construction of the Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge.

Ye Yumei, 75, traveled all the way from Wuhan to Nanjing to watch the performance. In 1965, at the age of 19, she devoted herself to the construction of the Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge. Scenes of bridge construction on the stage made her relive those passionate years.
