Lou Qinjian, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Director of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress, met Wednesday in Nanjing with Mr. Lui Tuck Yew, Ambassador of Singapore to China.
Lou Qinjian said that Jiangsu has maintained close, friendly and cooperative relations with Singapore for a long time and has achieved fruitful cooperation results, as is evidenced by the fact that the China-Singapore Suzhou Industrial Park has been a benchmark for the construction of China's industrial parks.
Lou Qinjian said that Jiangsu has a strong industrial foundation, rich scientific and educational resources, a suitable environment for living and entrepreneurship. Under the framework of the construction of Jiangsu as the junction of the "Belt and Road" initiative, Jiangsu will focus on building the Tongzhou Bay in the estuary of the Yangtze River, the Binhai Port in the estuary of the Huaihe River, and Lianyungang as a hub port in the Belt Road initiative.
He hoped that the two sides would join hands to further deepen practical cooperation in the fields of port construction, modern logistics, investment and trade, and make greater contributions to the continuous development of the China-Singapore friendly ties and cooperative relations.
Mr. Lui Tuck Yews said that Jiangsu enjoys developed economy and society, and the quality of life of the people has been continuously improved while its work in various aspects such as technological innovation, education fairness, and food safety can be regarded as a model for China.
He said that Jiangsu and Singapore have a good foundation for exchanges and cooperation, as is demonstrated by the fact that Jiangsu is the only province in China that has maintained three major cooperation projects with Singapore.
He hoped that the two sides will further intensify exchanges, conduct comprehensive and in-depth cooperation in more fields, and work together to create a better future.
