The county-level city of Kunshan in Jiangsu province kicked off on Sunday a promotional conference on the launch of its industrial science and technology innovation center.
The 4.0 version Talent Science and Technology Innovation Policy was released at the conference with a number of high-end talent science and technology projects and major innovation platforms signed to inject strong innovation momentum into Kunshan's construction of a benchmark city for socialist modernization.
Top-notch talents can receive up to 200 million yuan in financial support, and entrepreneurial and innovative high-level talents can receive up to 50 million yuan.
15 science and innovation industrial parks have signed 107 high-end talent science and innovation projects, with a total investment of 11.8 billion yuan.
The Yangtze River Delta Science and Technology Innovation Community Industrial Investment Fund will focus on the next generation of advanced industries such as advanced communications, blockchain, new materials, and intelligent manufacturing in a bid to help with the construction of Kunshan’s science and innovation drive.
In 2020, Kunshan reported GDP of 427.67 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4%. Its R&D investment accounted for 3.7% of the regional GDP. The city has hired 139 national-level talents and experts and registered more than 2,000 high-tech enterprises, both figures ranking first in China.
