It was learned on March 8 that the Wuxi Early Intervention Center for Children with Special Needs will open its Phase I project to the public, which is about to put into use, so as to appeal more people to pay attention to the study and life of "autistic children".

As a subordinate institution of the Wuxi Disabled Persons' Federation, the Wuxi Early Intervention Center for Children with Special Needs is the first public institution in China to provide rehabilitation training for children with autism. In September, 2021, the first-phase project of the new intervention center rebuilt in a different place will be put into service, with a total of 12 standard classes, 26 rehabilitation and preschool education rooms and 10 living areas. It can accommodate 192 exceptional children. The second-phase project of the new intervention center is planned to start construction in May, 2021 and be put into service in 2023.

According to Zhu Yimin, Director of the Wuxi Early Intervention Center for Exceptional Children, as a major project of the social undertaking in Wuxi, the new center will occupy an overall floorage of 23,000 square meters after completion, which can provide rehabilitation and education services for 800 children with special needs from 0 to 18 years old. By then, the new center will become a rehabilitation and education complex integrating infant care, preschool education, rehabilitation during compulsory education, special education for severely disabled students and vocational rehabilitation.
