Lou Qinjian, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, met Thursday morning with Chey Tae-won, chairman of SK Group from ROK. Chey was awarded the honorary certificate of "Honorary Resident of Jiangsu Province".
On behalf of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government, Lou Qinjian expressed his warm congratulations to Chey Tae-won, and thanked him for his continuous care and support for the development of Jiangsu.
Lou Qinjian said that the title of "Honorary Resident of Jiangsu Province" is the highest honor given to foreign friends in Jiangsu,adding that Mr. Chey deserves this honor.
The CPC provincial chief noted that under the strong leadership of the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at the core, Jiangsu has achieved victories in epidemic prevention and control, economic and social development, strengthened international cooperation in anti-epidemic and foreign-funded services, increased GDP by 3.7% and imports and exports by 2.6% while its FDI ranked first in the country.
Lou Qinjian hoped that the two parties will further deepen strategic cooperation, and promote the construction of a new development pattern, the optimization and upgrading of the industrial chain and supply chain, the construction of the China-South Korea (Yancheng) industrial park, strengthen ecological and environmental protection cooperation and promote exchanges and cooperation to a new level.
Chey Tae-won congratulated Jiangsu on the remarkable achievements in epidemic prevention and control and economic and social development, and sincerely thanked Jiangsu for its strong support to SK Group, in particular during the anti-epidemic period.
He said that it is a great honor for him to be awarded the title of "Honorary Resident of Jiangsu Province", adding that SK Group has become a member of the development plan in Jiangsu.
SK Group will work hard to overcome the impact of the epidemic and other unfavorable factors, accelerate cooperation projects, expand cooperation space in more fields, better fulfill corporate social responsibilities, and make greater contributions to the modernization of Jiangsu, said Chey.
The title of "Honorary Resident of Jiangsu Province" is commended to encourage foreign friends who have made outstanding contributions in economic construction, social development, foreign exchanges and cooperation.
On November 27, 2020, the 19th meeting of the Standing Committee of the 13th Provincial People's Congress voted and passed the decision on granting the title of "Honorary Resident of Jiangsu Province" to Chey Tae-won and 9 other international friends.
